Skin & Allergy Care
Diagnose and treat common skin conditions.
Incessant scratching, paw licking, recurrent ear infections, irritated skin, upset GI system - these are all symptoms of allergies! And they are all ailments we can work towards reducing, using a variety of allergy protocols ranging from immunotherapy injections to diet shifts.
What causes allergies, and how are they treated?
There are many things your pet can be allergic to, the most common allergens being ones that exist in the environment - pollen, grass, dust mites, etc. Although we cannot rid the environment of these triggers, we can use proactive approaches that limit your pet's allergic reactions. Proactive treatments include oral pharmaceuticals, immunotherapy injections, and more!
Although less common, food - specifically proteins - can be another allergen source for your pets. We are well-versed in the process of food trials, a tool we use to help identify and problem-solve food allergies, and can formulate an individualized diet plan for your pet.
For cases requiring specialized instruction, we collaborate with local dermatologists to provide the highest quality of care for our patients.

Allergy Testing + Hyposensitization
We offer blood allergy testing that works to identify your pet's specific allergens. For those patients who test positive for environmental allergens, we offer hyposensitization treatment that works to reduce the pet's allergic response to those environmental allergens. Unfortunately, hyposensitization treatment is not viable for food allergies - the only treatment for food allergies is avoidance of the food allergen through specialized diet.
