Internal Medicine

Treating sick and injured pets with diagnostics.

Internal medicine is the area of veterinary medicine that addresses illness and disease, identifying and diagnosing the ailments that hide beneath the surface of the skin. These illnesses cannot be detected by physical exam alone and require diagnostic testing to detect and identify. By using diagnostics to look internally, we are able to make accurate diagnoses and formulate effective treatment plans.

Our hospital is equipped with several diagnostic tools, including digital radiology, blood and urine screening, and cytology.

These in-house diagnostic tools identify a wide variety of illnesses, including but not limited to: ear and skin infections, UTIs, tick-borne diseases, pancreatitis, and metabolic abnormalities such as thyroid disease and diabetes.

We also collaborate with several commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

For more advanced internal medicine cases, we consult with an internal medicine specialist who will travel to our hospital to provide our patients with in-house ultrasound services.
